ZED PICKERING
candidate for Ward 3, Uxbridge

Zed was born and raised in Durham Region and resides in Uxbridge with his wife and four-year-old daughter. After graduating from Durham College with a diploma in Public Relations, he worked in Marketing and Sales and is now a Territory Manager in the craft beer industry. 

Zed has always found a tremendous amount of joy in supporting others and since moving back to Uxbridge has made it a major focus in his life. Volunteering with organizations in the community and leading the conversation in areas of social challenges, sparked a greater calling to represent the people of Ward 3. Since becoming a member of a Region of Durham Committee, serving as a board member for North House (tackling housing/homelessness issues) and providing insight on The Township of Uxbridge's EDI document, it has become clear Zed has the capacity to effect change and has more work to do.

Before returning to Uxbridge, Zed and his wife Megan travelled across Canada enjoying small towns from St. John's to Nanaimo. In his spare time, Zed enjoys meeting friends at The Second Wedge Brewing Company, walking the trails of Uxbridge or heading North to paddle winding rivers.
 

In October, Zed plans to continue leading the community he loves by providing insight into matters important to the people of Ward 3; communicating strongly in the matters that mean the most to the neighbourhood.
